Russ Hartenstine, Owner and Founder of PPM, wears two hats at the Company: Project Manager for new construction and General Operations Manager/Chief Problem Solver for the property management wing. Yes, it's true, he doesn't sleep much, and when you meet him, you'll know why! His boundless energy and very creative mind seem ideally suited for the role! He draws on his college studies in Religion and Anthropology to understand our client's lifestyles. His 25-year plus a background in cabinetmaking and construction has trained him for intense attention to detail. This makes him as good at interior trim as at making sure a property is managed to an owner's specification.
Since moving to the Vineyard in 1998, Russ has been a cabinetmaker, carpenter's helper, carpenter, site supervisor, project manager, property manager and, finally, the Owner and General Manager of PPM!
His favorite construction projects are renovations; his love of history saw to that! He's done several renovations over the years, which include the renovation and expansion of a compound in West Tisbury that included a historic cottage. He's also well experienced in new construction! He's spent nearly 10 years on the north shore of West Tisbury on 2 large projects, both consisting of several buildings, pools and creative landscape designs. By the time they were done, he'd become a Project Manager of one of the largest construction companies on the Vineyard!
Of all these projects, if you asked him what most special project he's done, it would have been the long boardwalk that he built in Edgartown, which enabled a child with disabilities to walk to the beach alone, for the first time.
Russ is the doting father of a son and daughter, a West Tisbury firefighter, the Emergency Manager for the Town of West Tisbury and on several town chairs and non-profit boards on the Island.
Yes, you can see he doesn't sleep much, but he has been doing this for a long time and doesn't seem to be slowing down at all if you ask him, he's just getting started!
Pavla joined the Pyramid Property Management team in 2015 and is the office manager and bookkeeper here.
Originally from the Czech Republic, Pavla discovered Martha’s Vineyard in the early 90’s as a college student participating in a work & travel program. She instantly fell in love with the island and kept coming back until she eventually made it her home.
Pavla studied at the University of Western Bohemia in Czech Republic and received a degree in education with a major in languages, Czech and English. Her diverse background includes years of work in hospitality business, bookkeeping, office management and real estate. It was only a natural progression for Pavla to end up in property management office where she can utilize her previously gained skills.
Pavla is an energetic and active person who enjoys spending her down time engaging in a variety of different sports and fun activities such as yoga, hockey and pickleball. She loves hiking MV trails and walking the island beaches with her golden retriever, Silah.
She and her two teenage children live in Oak Bluffs.
